Autumn McClenaghan, Career Coach

Welcome!  My name is Autumn McClenaghan, owner and founder of Career 1125.  I am passionate about career development and helping people on their career journeys!  Stay-at-home moms returning to work, veterans transitioning back into civilian world, military spouses, undecided students, career changers, retirees—I am here to help you!

I have worked in various roles in higher education, and left my last role as the Director of Career Planning and Development to begin Career 1125.   I have helped thousands of students and alumni with career exploration, resume review, cover letter development, interview preparation, and network connections, and I am excited to partner with you as you navigate your career goals.

I enrolled in my local community college after high school, not sure of what I really wanted to study.  I considered interpreting for the deaf, teaching, history, psychology, finally deciding on Human Services.  I realized that I liked helping people.  Then, a year after transferring to the university, I received notification that my field of study was no longer being offered.  What was I going to do?  After a bit of a meltdown and a meeting with my advisor, I decided upon the field of human resources.   I enrolled in a career development class and, after landing an internship back at my community college career services office, I knew that I had found my career-- helping others with their career journey!  It took me five years to graduate with my bachelor’s degree, working part time along the way.

I then worked in higher education for several years, eventually relocating to North Carolina. At the time, the local university was one of only five schools in the country offering a graduate degree in career counseling. While working full time in a community college, I completed my master’s degree in  Career Counseling. Since that time, I have continued my education, earning various career certifications. I recently earned my Board Certified Career Coach designation.

I am married to my high school sweetheart Jason and together we are raising our son Maxwell who is 7.  I have a Boston Terrier named Julep who is 2, both keep us on our toes!  I enjoy hanging out with my boys, having fun with my friends, photography, traveling, brunch, and singing karaoke.

How can I help you achieve your goals?

As your coach, I will provide support and collaboration. We will work together to help you reach the career goals you have outlined and your highest self-potential by removing any barriers to your career success.

I look forward to connecting with you soon and helping you achieve your career goals!
